The 17-piece John Paulson Big Band will will perform is debut concert this coming Saturday, November 17th, at the Winona Art Center located at Fifth and Franklin Streets.
Paulson was an adjunct professor of music at St. Mary's University where he retired after 30 years this year. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.and tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for students. They will be available only at the door beginning one hour before the performance.
Paulson has been doing big band arrangements for student groups for over 20 years and the goal is to perform these works with the best players in the area. The concert will be recorded and featured on an upcoming CD. Proceeds from the CD will go to support the Music Access for All programs Paulson started in Winona in 2002.
