Don't forget that the alternate side parking ordinance in Winona goes into effect Wednesday at midnight .
              
The start of the ordinance enforcement is November 15th, two weeks later than in past years, and the hours of enforcement have been expanded by one hour to midnight to 6:30 a.m.  
               
That means staring at midnight Wednesday vehicles must be parked on the even side of the street on even-numbered dates, and on the odd side of the street on the odd-numbered dates...but only between midnight and 6:30 a.m.
               
Violators will receive a $25 citation and, if there is a snow emergency, the vehicle will also be towed.  The ordinance will now be enforced through March15th, two weeks shorter than in past years.
               
In recent years police have not issued any warnings...they have issued tickets on the very first night.
