Pelowski--Committee Appointment

State Representative Gene Pelowski of Winona has been chosen to head one of the legislature's more important committees starting in January with the 2013 session.

Pelowski was named by House leadership to chair the Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee. He is a retired Winona High School teacher who will begin his14th two-year term in the House in January. Previously Pelowski served as chair of the Government Operations Committee until the Republicans won the House in 2010.

In the past, Pelowski was been successful in securing state funding for some large projects on the Winona State University campus including the Darrell W. Kruger Library, the Science Lab building, and the WSU Wellness Center.
