WSU Women's Coach Gets Milestone Win, Men Win



Winona State women’s head basketball coach Scott Ballard won his 400th game Saturday night against Grand View 87-54. The Warriors were red hot from the outside hitting 15 of 24 three-point shots. Kelsey Andrist and Kate Wolfe each had 20 points while Becca Friestleben added 19 points. The three of them combined to shoot 14 of 16 from the three-point line. The Warriors are now 2-1 and they head to Alaska for three games starting on Thanksgiving.

The Winona State men’s basketball team bounced back from a Friday night loss to beat the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Saturday night 66-57. Kellen Taylor scored a career high 21 points while Caleb Palkert scored 13 points starting in place of all-american Clayton Vette. Vette sat out the game due to a face injury. Winona State improves to 4-1 and they will travel to Northwood on Saturday for their next game.
