Steamboat Days Committee Chair, Chris Strub, says moving the beer tent from its longtime location in East Levee Park to the corner of 2nd Street and Center will have several advantages, including having the music stage under a tent.
Strub says the new location will also move the beer tent closer to the food vendors, the car show and carnival rides as well as having better lighting ...
2nd Street will be closed for pedestrian safety during Steamboat Days.
In other business, the council voted to approve a request to allow non-profit organizations to serve a larger variety of beer and wines at fundraisers, including wine and beer that is more than the currently allowed 3.2 percent alcohol content.
Mayor Jerry Miller voted no, in his words, just so someone voted no on the request.
