Red Cross Workers



Two more Winona residents have been deployed to New York to help in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
                        
The American Red Cross of Winona, Wabasha, and Goodhue Counties says Diane Wiltgen and Mike Papke will be helping in the area of distribution of cleaning supplies and other goods needed by people who are still working to restore their homes.
                      
Since the storm, the Red Cross has handed out more than 3-point-6 million relief items, including cold-weather items and clean-up supplies.                   
   
Some people who are unable to return home remain in shelters operated by the Red Cross and other agencies. Sunday night about 750 people stayed in ten shelters. There have been 148,000 shelter stays in thw2ake of the storm.
