The Winona County Board of Commissioners will hold a closed door meeting next Tuesday, November 27th, to conduct an evaluation of County Administrator Duane Hebert's job performance.
The meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the county government center and will precede the board's regular meeting that starts at 7:00 p.m.
During the regular meeting the board will hold a public hearing on the county's proposed 2013 budget which amounts to about 48-million dollars. The board will also discuss the 2013 property tax levy. Some board members have talked about a possible 3% reduction from the 2012 levy.
In addition, board members are expected to discuss the idea of appointing a "first assistant" to conduct the county auditor-treasurer duties when current Auditor-Treasurer Sue Rivers retires on November 30th. The first assistant would supervise the department until River's term expires in 2014. At that time an election to fill the position on a permanent basis would be held.
During a committee-of-the board meeting following the regular meeting, board members will discuss their own salaries for 2013. Both the regular and committee meetings are open to the public.
