The 11th ranked Winona State men’s basketball team turned up the defense in a 69-56 comeback win over Ferris State Sunday. The Warriors trailed by two at halftime but went on a 23-5 second half run to pull away from the Bulldogs. Winona State forced 17 turnovers and held Ferris State to 33 percent shooting from the field for the game.
Zander Culver led the Warriors in scoring with 11 points and Xavier Humphrey added 10. Kellen Taylor had a good all-around game with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Winona State also won Saturday beating Northwood 74-67 and the Warriors are now 6-1 on the season.
