Red Kettle Drive

The Red Kettles are out in Winona as the Salvation Army begins its annual fund drive during the Christmas season.

Spokesperson Holly Pitts told a Winona Radio audience the kettles will be located at the HyVee, Walmart, and Shopko stores right up until Christmas Eve.  But while the drive takes place during Christmas time, Pitts says 90% of the funds raised are used locally and year around.

The Salvation Army is also looking for local and area volunteers to ring the bells.  Pitts says the volunteers can be adults, students, and even whole families.

Contact the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Winona for more information. The phone number is 474-2400.  Last year the local drive raised over $14,000.
