Superintendent Chuck Ehler told a Winona Radio audience this would be the first phase of project to eventually construct a facility that would house all classes through the 12th grade. Ehler said the current plan is to have early childhood and kindergarten classes occupy the first floor, and grades one through five the second floor of the new building, which he calls the start of a future consolidation.
The last building referendum in Rushford came in 2002 and Ehler said district voters have not approved an infrastructure initiative since 1968 when a new gym was built on to the now over 100 year old high school.
A second public informational meeting on the proposal will be held on Monday, December 10th, at 6:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.
