WAPS Budget Hearing

The Winona Area Public School Board has announced it will hold its annual Truth in Taxation public hearing on Thursday, December 6th, at City Hall.  That's when district residents will get their chance to speak out on the proposed 2013 budget.

The board was told earlier this month that a total of about $1.7 million in budget cuts may need to be made over the next three years. The first round next spring, according to Superintendent Scott Hannon, would be about $500,000.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in City Council chambers.  The board may also decide on the district's 2013 property tax levy.
