Tonight on the local schedule, boys’ basketball Lewiston-Altura plays its season opener at C-FC, Arcadia is hosting Black River Falls, and Wabasha-Kellogg plays its first game at Southland.

The Hope Lutheran boys’ and girls’ basketball teams play North Metro in the Coulee Region Christian tournament. The girls play at 12:00 and the boys follow at 1:30.

The Winona High girls’ basketball team travels to Kasson-Mantorville tonight and looks to bounce back from a season opening loss to Red Wing.  Cotter plays at home for the second straight night when they host Medford at 7:00.  In area basketball Wabasha-Kellogg is hosting Lake City, Lewiston-Altura plays at home against Dover-Eyota and Rushford-Peterson travels to Kingsland. Tonight’s Rushford-Peterson game can be heard on K Country 99.3 starting at about 7:20.

The Saint Mary’s men’s hockey team plays at home tonight against St. Olaf while the SMU women travel to St. Olaf.
Tomorrow the Winona State football team will take on Lindenwood in the Mineral Water Bowl. This is the eighth postseason appearance in thirteen years for Winona State and this will be their third trip to the Mineral Water Bowl. Winona State comes into the game 9-2 while Lindenwood went 8-3 during the regular season. Saturday’s game kicks off at noon and it can be seen on HBC Channel 24.

The Winona State men’s and women’s basketball teams open up the NSIC schedule tomorrow afternoon when they host Upper Iowa. The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team is also home tomorrow against St. Catherine.

And the Winona High wrestling team is hosting a 12-team meet starting at 10:00 Saturday morning.
