Tonight on the local schedule, the Winona High boys open the season at home against Kasson-Mantorville.  Rushford-Peterson opens season at Plainview-Elgin-Millville. The Trojans are coming off a state tournament berth last season but they will be pretty young this season. Wabasha-Kellogg plays at Lewiston-Altura while G-E-T is hosting West Salem and Arcadia travels to Osseo-Fairchild.

In girls’ basketball, Winona High travels to Kasson-Mantorville and the Winhawk game can be heard on AM 1230 KWNO and online at winonaradio.com starting at about 7:20. The Cotter girls are home to Kenyon-Wanamingo and the Hope Lutheran boys’ and girls’ teams are playing at Immanuel Lutheran. In area girls’ action, Cochrane-Fountain City is hosting Onalaska Luther, Arcadia is hosting Viroqua, and Rushford-Peterson is home to Plainview-Elgin-Millville.

The Winona High boys’ hockey team travels to Dodge County tonight.
