Two Winona State Football Players Named All-Americans

Winona State running back Rayon Simmons and offensive lineman Richard Lilla have been selected as All-Americans by the Beyond Sports College Network. Simmons earned first team All-American honors while Lilla was an honorable mention selection.
Simmons capped a remarkable career with the best season by a running back in program history. Simmons set a Winona State and NSIC record with 1,774 rushing yards while scoring 19 touchdowns. He also caught 32 passes for 354 yards and two more scores. The senior set the Winona State and NSIC career rushing records as well, ending his outstanding career with 5,246 yards on the ground.
Lilla started all 12 games for Winona State at center, anchoring an offensive line that set a WSU record with 5,779 yards of total offense.
Winona State senior linebacker Alex Coulter has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America second team.
Coulter holds a 3.97 cumulative grade point average while pursuing majors in Finance and Economics at Winona State. Coulter started all 12 games for the Warriors at linebacker this season, making 37 tackles and had two interceptions, four sacks and five tackles for loss.
