Wencel--Drug Charges

Authorities say a 20 year old Goodview man is now facing felony drug charges in connection with a traffic stop in Lewiston last Saturday.

Sheriff's Investigator Rob Averbeck said the stop was made in Lewiston after an investigator followed a vehicle on Highway 14 from the Stockton area noticing it was speeding and crossing the center line.  Charged with felony fifth degree possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a mall amount of marijuana was Adam Wencel.

Averbeck said Wencel was a passenger in the vehicle which was driven by 16 year old juvenile male. The driver was also charged with a felony fifth degree controlled substance violation, possession of a small amount of marijuana, speeding and having no driver's license.

Averbeck said a search of the vehicle turned up some baggies containing traces of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a plastic container with three brownies that tested positive for containing marijuana.  A third male juvenile in the vehicle was not charged.
