Klobachar--NCPTC

In addition to announcing a new partnership with the Gunderson Lutheran Health System Thursday, the National Child Protection Training Center in Winona received some good news from Washington, DC.

Senator Amy Klobachar announced she and Senator Al Franken, along Representative Tim Walz, are sponsoring legislation to formally designate the Winona center as one of four regional child abuse training centers across the nation.

Klobachar told Winona Radio News she hopes the bill will lead to more funding for the Winona center.  She also said she was pleased with the collaboration between the Winona State Center and Gunderson Lutheran which, she says, will provide more stability for the local center.

The new agreement will result in healthcare workers at Gunderson also receiving training and providing programs for child abuse victims and their families.
