A Millville woman has won $1,000,000 by playing the lottery's Powerball game. Sandy Webster says she only purchases Powerball tickets occasionally and only when the jackpot is very big.
Webster stopped at the Kwik Trip in St. Charles November 28th to buy some cookies for her kids and since the Powerball jacket pot was up to a record $587,500,000, she decided to buy a single ticket at the last minute.
Webster says she put the ticket in her purse and forgot about it until a few days later when she asked a sales clerk to check her ticket. She says she didn’t know how much she had won until she got home and checked the lottery’s website. Webster says she and her family still could barely believe it. Webster’s quick-pick Powerball ticket matched the first five numbers drawn November 28th to win the $1,000,000.
