The C-P made a $2,000 donation and Winona Volunteer Services Executive Director, Sandra Burke, told the crowd they appreciate the help from the railroad and all the people who brought their own non-perishable food item.
The holiday train visit, which is one of about 150 stops it makes this holiday season, coincides with the Merchants Bank's Ten Days of Giving food drive. Burke says even though the drive officially ends Monday, they are taking donations of food and cash through the end of this week.
Merchant’s Bank employees gave out hot chocolate and cookies to the crowd during the gour long event.
The train also made stops in Wabasha and Lake City Monday evening after departing Winona.
