Outgoing Winona County Board Chair Mena Kaehler said the board made many accomplishments during her four-year tenure as a board member.

Kaehler lost her re-election bid in November and told board members Tuesday she hopes efforts to trim spending and make positive changes in county government will continue.

Kaehler also said she was proud of the state recognition Winona has received with her involvement in a number of state committees and agencies.

Kaehler cited as accomplishments during he tenure the board's ability to reduce the county's structural deficit from $2,000,000 to $300,000, lower the property tax levy by about 11% and reduce government employees while maintaining a high level of services.
