CNG--Fastenal

Two local companies say they are committed to using compressed natural gas in their vehicles in the future now that the Winona area's first CNG station has opened.

A grand opening was held Wednesday at the Kwik Trip station in Goodview and that has sparked interest by both the Fastenal Company and Allstate Peterbuilt.

Fastenal's National Logistics Manager, Chris Duffenbach said Fastenal already has seven trucks locally that run on compressed natural gas, and plans to add more in the future.  Allstate Peterbuilt's General Manager, Jon Bush, said his firm is an industry leader in natural gas technology.

Officials with Kwik Trip and the City of Goodview were also on hand for the grand opening and ribbon cutting. The station has been added to Kwik Trip CNG stations in both La Crosse and Rochester.  Kwik Trip currently has 10 CNG locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa with plans to open eight to ten more in the spring of 2013.
