The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team enters the Christmas break 7-1 after beating UW-La Crosse 56-45. The Cardinals' defense remained strong forcing 24 turnovers while holding the Eagles to 34.7 percent shooting from the field. Saint Mary’s wasn’t great offensively either shooting just 35.8 percent from the field but they had a big advantage at the free throw line. The Cardinals hit 17-23 free throws while the Eagles made just 6-13.
