The Rochester Post Bulletin reports Bill Eckles is no longer the chief following a city council meetingTuesday. Mayor Bill Spitzer said the decision was made by the council after a closed session to appoint Chris Lennon as the acting chief.
Spitzer said council decided that Eckles, who had been with the department since the 1980s, was no longer the right fit for St. Charles. Eckles became chief in 2004.
