Hurricane--Gorman

One of the local Red Cross workers who was deployed to New York to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy has returned.  Gail Gorman spent a month in New York City as a caseworker and visited  many shelters.

Gorman says she witnessed massive damage in the New York City area.  As a caseworker Gorman supervised large number of people at the Red Cross headquarters who did field work for the displaced residents.
Gorman called it a totally different disaster from what she had dealt with before because it happened in an urban setting and so many people were impacted.  A number of local Red Cross volunteers were also deployed.
