The Ho-Chunk Nation has taken a stance against frac sand mining on their Tribal lands.
                    
The Ho-Chunk Nation Legislature passed a resolution on December 4th, saying they will address anti-sand mining on the local, state, and national level with all of its legal, political, and financial resources.  The Ho-Chunk Nation has Tribal lands in 14 counties in Wisconsin including Eau Claire County.
                    
The resolution says the Nation will oppose frac sand mining in any location, and more precisely, in locations on or near its sovereign lands no matter how such land is owned.
