School Board

The Winona Area Public School Board holds it annual Truth in Taxation public hearing Thursday evening when it will certify its 2013 property tax levy.

Earlier this month the board set the preliminary levy at a reduction of eight percent from the district's 2012 levy.  The board will also hear a mid-year budget update.

In addition, the board will be asked to approve an affiliation with the University of North Dakota's College of Education and Human Development.  The agreement would allow University of North Dakota students to practice teach in the Winona public schools.

The board will also officially recognize outgoing board members Michelle Langowski, Gary Shurson, and Greg Fellman, who will be attending their final meeting.  The three did not seek re-election.  Three new members will fill their seats starting in January.

Thursday's meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall and is open to the public.
