Succio Retires--MnDOT

The Rochester District Engineer for the Minnesota Department of Transportation is stepping down after more than 30 years of service.  MnDOT says Nelrae  Succio has served as Rochester District Engineer from 1998 to 2001, and from 2003 to the present.

She has overseen the state transportation system in the eleven counties that make up the Rochester District, including Winona County. Succio began her career as a graduate engineer in Baxter, Minnesota, in July of 1982.

A reception for Succio will be held  Wednesday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the new MnDOT maintenance facility in Rochester.  MnDOT is currently in the process for finding a replacement to fill the district engineer position in Rochester.

Under Succio's leadership, the Rochester District has made significant improvements to major corridors including Highways 52, 63 and 14. She was also instrumental in implementing the regional Towards Zero Deaths initiative into a statewide program.
