Officers Honored



Nine law enforcement officers have received special honors for their role in the investigation of a the shooting of a Lake City police officer one year ago.
                 
The nine were presented with the Medal of Valor by the Minnesota Sheriff's Association after they were nominated by Wabasha County Sheriff Rodney Bartsch.
                  
According to the Wabasha County Herald, the nine, including the Lake City Police Chief, played a key role after Lake City Officer Shawn Schneider was shot at a Lake City home on December 19th, 2011 when he responded to a call.
                 
Schneider died later from his wounds.  Schneider also received the Medal of Honor which was accepted by his family.
