The Red Wing Police Department served a search warrent around 9:00 a.m. Friday at 2649 Malmquist Avenue in relationship to a felon in possession of firearms.  
         
The suspect, Javad Khan of Red Wing, was not at the residence.

Upon searching the residence, task force members located a significant amount of ammunition, firearm magazines, a significant amount of marijuana and baggie's containing pills marked for resale, and more than $8,000 in cash.

The team also located what appeared to be the makings of a pipe bomb, the area was secured and the St. Paul Police Department Bomb Squad was notified. It was determined that the suspected device was non-explosive and used in the manufacturing of controlled substances.

Officers also recovered several guns from a separate residence upon consent of the resident.  

Khan was later located and arrested was transported to the Goodhue County Adult Detention Center, and charged with felon in possession of a firearm and 5th degree possession of controlled substance.
