Winona County Chief Deputy Ron Ganrude says a suspect in a shooting in Preston in Fillmore County has been apprehended in Winona County after a high speed chase.
Ganrude says the male suspect's vehicle was stopped by Winona County officers and Rushford authorities around 1:45 p.m.on County Road 12 , one mile east of Wilson.
Ganrude says Deputies surrounded the vehicle and after about 30 minutes the man came out of the car and surrendered. He says they recovered a shotgun from the vehicle.
According to KTTC.com, a 49-year-old Preston woman has been hospitalized after being shot by someone they identify as a 39-year-old Canton man. The shooting happened inside a home in Preston at about 12:20 p.m. Friday.
Fillmore County Sheriff's department reports a Rushford police officer spotted the man initially on Highway 16 between Whalan and Peterson before he was finally apprehended east of Wilson.
