The city of Winona will be installing dozens of new benches around town starting next spring.
                  
City Clerk Monica Hennessy Mohan says the city will order the first of some 30 to 40 benches early in 2013 for delivery and installation after the snow melts for good next spring.

The benches have a cost of roughly $1,000 or more each and they will be installed over the next 2 to 3 years around the city.

At this time there are no plans for any advertising to be placed on the benches.
