Taxpayers in Buffalo County will see their property taxes go up one percent in 2013 after the Buffalo County Board of Supervisors approved the 2013 budget.
The Cochrane-Fountain City Recorder says the County Board approved a 15-point-1 million dollar budget for 2013 that also raises expenses by 4-point-5 percent. The property tax levy will increase by about 45-thousand-500 dollars over the 2012 levy
The board also decided to use 1-point-1 million dollars in reserves to balance the budget and fill in the gaps.
The decision to use the budget reserves passed on an 8-to-4 vote.
