The Wabasha-Kellogg School District will be adding another level of security following the tragic deaths of students and faculty in Newtown, Connecticut this month.
The Wabasha County Herald reports all doors in the district's high school and elementary school will be locked during school hours.
Superintendent Jim Freihammer said even the main entries in both schools will be locked during school hours. Visitors will have to be buzzed in.
Friehammer said the new policy will be implemented as soon as possible but no exact date was announced. Additional levels of security are also being discussed.
