An annual audit of the Caledonia School District highlighted mostly positive news, with the exception being their low fund balance.
According to the Caledonia Argus, the district's general fund balance is 4.3% of it's annual yearly budget, and the target number is between 8% to 16%.
Kim Hillberg, partner with CliftonLarsonAllen, said there several reasons for the lower than desired fund balance, including declining enrollment and delayed payments from the state.
The audit gave the district good marks on how well the district tracks and manages funds and overall it was a clean year for the district.
