Lewiston Auto/Warrior Club Holiday Tournament Wrapup



The Lewiston Auto/Warrior Club Holiday Basketball Tournament wrapped up on Saturday and one Winona area team brought home a championship. The Hope Lutheran girls, making their first ever appearance in the tournament, won the bracket A championship beating St. Francis 55-37.

The Winona High boys and girls both finished second in their bracket. The Winona High boys lost to 8th ranked Minnetonka 78-57 and the Winona High girls lost a rematch against 5th ranked Red Wing 48-41. Red Wing beat Winona High 78-56 in the first game of the year.

The Cotter girls lost to Plainview-Elgin-Millville in a championship game 60-47. The Hope Lutheran boys finished second in their bracket losing to Goodhue 61-38 on Saturday. The Cotter boys finished third in their bracket after beating Cochrane-Fountain City in the third place game 69-59.

High school basketball teams will get going again starting on Thursday and KWNO will be broadcasting the Winona High girls’ game at Rochester Century on Thursday. On Friday KWNO will having the Cotter girls playing at Rochester Lourdes.
