Assault Charges



A 23 year old Winona man is facing felony assault by strangulation charges following an incident that occurred early this morning.
                
Deputy Police Chief Tom Williams said Brady Lee McCollum-Westerman is also accused of assault causing both fear and harm.
                
Williams said officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of Jimmy Carter Place just before 3:00 a.m. McCollum-Westerman is alleged to have grabbed a 24 year old woman by the neck during a disagreement.
                
Williams said McCollum-Westerman told police the woman was the aggressor.  McCollum-Westerman was jailed pending formal charges.
