HHS Director Resigns

Buffalo County Health & Human Services Director Paula Stansbury has resigned to accept a new job in Pepin County.

Stansbury finishes work in Buffalo County Jan. 10 to become new director of human services in Pepin County where Phil Wicktor is retiring.  Stansbury, an 11 year employee in Buffalo County, served as director of health & human services for the past 6 years.

The county's HHS committee has recommended appointing Sonya Hansen as interim director with Carri Renchin serving as interim social services supervisor.  Hansen is currently employed as assistant HHS director and child support coordinator. Renchin is director of aging programs and services.
Hansen and Renchin recently met with the county's finance committee to outline an interim management plan that would provide time for further study of options.  Hansen recommended that a proposed interim management plan be used for three to six months while exploring future director options.
