While Winona County Board members finalized appointments to four of the nine county citizen committees for 2013, appointments to one committee were delayed because of difference of opinion.
                     
Board members decided to defray a final decision on four appointments to the County Planning Commission until their January 22nd meeting, where it will be up to new board chairman Wayne Valentine to make the final decision.
                   
The re-appointment of current members Robert Redig and Rick Speltz were quickly agreed upon by the board but the commissioners could not agree on who should fill the other two openings.
                 
Commissioners Steve Jacob and Marcia Ward wanted Don Evenson and Joy Fabian-Ewing to be appointed...Jim Pomeroy preferred Mark Clark and James Hegland...and Greg Olson spoke in favor of Todd Paddock and Clark.
                 
Since no consensus was reached, the board decided to defer the final decision to Valentine at their next meeting.
