Ag Committee

House Republicans are calling for the House Agriculture Finance Committee to be brought back and a move to shift the Ag Policy committee to the Environment and Natural Resources committee be rescinded by the DFL majority.

Republican Representative Steve Drazkowski says the resulting shift puts a Minneapolis lawmaker, described as anti-farmer, in charge of a committee that will make key ag decisions.  But Democratic Representative Gene Pelowski called the Republican effort gamesmanship.
Republicans say while the shift seems small, it would require all ag finance bills to be approved by the Environment and Natural Resources committee.  The motion was sent to a House committee for review.
