Fountain City Council incumbent Gary Brone did not file for re-election to a three-year term in the city's 1st Ward.
    
Since no one else filed candidacy for the seat, it will be open to write-in candidates in the April 2 election.

In the 2nd Ward, incumbent Tim Schaffner filed for re-election to a 3-year term without opposition.

In the race for Alma City Council, Alderperson Monica Moham in the city's 1st Ward took out candidacy nomination papers, but did not file for re-election by the deadline date. No one else filed candidacy.

Incumbent Gary Ruff filed for re-election as alderperson at-large as did 2nd Ward incumbent Mary Johnson. Neither has opposition in the April 2 election.

Also, Joseph Mlinar filed for election to a 3-year term on the Alma School Board without opposition. Mlinar was appointed to the school board in 2012 to complete the term of Mike Abts, who resigned.
