The Saint Mary’s women’s basketball team used a strong defensive performance Wednesday night to beat Macalester 51-40. The Cardinals held the Scots to just 29 % shooting from the field. Courtney Euerle led the way with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Jamie Stefely added 10 points. Saint Mary’s is 9-3 overall and they are tied for fourth place in the MIAC at 6-3.

The Saint Mary’s men’s basketball team lost a battle of last place teams Wednesday night falling to Macalester 70-63. Michael Burfeind led the way with 18 points and Evan Pederson dropped in 15 points. Saint Mary’s falls to 1-11 overall and 0-7 in conference play.
