Republican Allen Quist has been endorsed by his party to run the District 19A seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
               
Quist received 85% of the first ballot votes during an endorsement meeting Thursday night.  The district represents all of Nicollet County and parts of Blue Earth and La Sueur counties.
               
Quist previously served in the state legislature for six years in the late 1980s.  In November he lost the First District Congressional election to Tim Walz.
               
If a primary election is needed it would be held on January 29th.  The regular special election is scheduled for February 12th.
