Gabrych says if people have the flu and have a high fever, aching chills or have trouble breathing, they should seek medical care.
Gabrych says the flu season technically runs through May, but the next couple months will be the worst.
Gabrych says there have been 57 influenza postive tests so far but adds that many patients are not tested so the actual number is most likely much higher.
South-central Minnesota has been hit hard by the flu, with higher numbers than at the height of the H1N1 outbreak in 2009.
