Winona State Baseball Team Picked Third



The Winona State baseball team has been picked to finish third in the NSIC Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Minnesota State-Mankato was picked to win the conference and they received 13 of 15 first place votes. Second place St. Cloud State was picked first by one coach and Winona State received the only other first place vote. Augustana and Wayne State were picked fourth and fifth respectively.

Winona State shortstop Seth McMullen has been named the NSIC Preseason Player of the Year after being named an all-american last year. McMullen, a senior, hit .360 with 9 homeruns and 49 RBIs last season.

The Warriors went 29-22 last season and advanced to the NCAA Region Tournament for the third straight season. Winona State returns six batters who hit .300 or better last season, including all-conference players Cody Strang, Kyle Sill and Seth McMullen.
