Board-certified Internal Medicine physician Katrina Hammel, MD, has joined the Winona Health medical staff and serves as a hospitalist.

Hospitalists specialize in caring for patients while they are hospitalized. They work closely with each patient's primary physician and care coordination teams.

Prior to joining Winona Health, Hammel cared for patients in the Internal Medicine Department at Gundersen Lutheran in Onalaska.

Hammel completed her residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa and received her medical degree at the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City. She is certified by the American board of Internal Medicine.
