Construction activities on the 187-point-5 million dollar Interstate 90 bridge replacement project at Dresbach will get underway this coming Monday, January 21st.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation is joining forces with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation on the project that is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
The project includes replacing the old I-90 bridge over the Mississippi River and reconstructing the Highway 61-14 and I-90 interchange at Dresbach.
Ames Construction of Minneapolis is the general contractor.
MnDOT says motorists will not be affected by the construction activities initially, but parts of the Dresbach Information Center will be used as a staging area for stockpiling materials for the project.
Access to the U-S Fish and Wildlife boat launch at Dresbach will remain open until March, when it will be closed for the rest of 2013. The DNR boat launch site is expected to be open at all times during the project.
