The 59th Annual Eagles Cancer Telethon held at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester will air on KTTC Channel 10 over the weekend.
The telethon starts at 8:00 p.m. Saturday and runs until 9:45 p.m. Sunday and features about 130 performances.
Telethon Director, Teresa Chapman, invites the public to stop by and enjoy the atmosphere, food, vigils, kids activities and more.
People can give donations for hair cuts and chair massages. Chapman says all the proceeds from the entire cancer telethon stays local, going to fund cancer research at Mayo Clinic, the Hormel Institute and the University of Minnesota.
Last year's event raised $830,000. The Eagles Cancer Telethon is the country's longest running, totally local telethon.
