Longtime Winona resident Larry Laber was honored last night as the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce's Volunteer of the Year.
The announcement came at the Chamber's annual banquet held at the Riverport Inn.
Chamber rPresident Della Schmidt said Labor was honored for his involvement with the Chamber as a past president of the board. He just completed a second term of service on the board.
Labor has been a mainstay on the Family Night on the Farm planning team, has been a leader in the Chamber's legislative policy arena, and has represented the voice of the business community by serving as the Chamber's delegate to the Minnesota Department of Transportation Public Advisory Committee for the Highway 43 bridge project. He has also served on numerous chamber committees.
Laber recently retired after a long and distinguished career at the CHS grain terminal in the commercial harbor.
