Three more frac sand mines have won approval in Trempealeau County.
             
The Trempealeau County Times reports the county environment and land use committee approved conditional use permits for two mines in the Township of Preston and one near Arcadia.
             
The committee spent six hours taking public testimony and debate on the proposed permits.
             
The two mines in Preston Township will be operated by Spartan Sands of Muskegon, Michigan.
              
The mine near Arcadia will be operated by K-A-W Valley Companies of Kansas City, Kansas.
