Blair-Taylor Bond Referendum

Voters in the Blair-Taylor School District will be asked to approve a 17-million dollar bond referendum on April 2nd,  but a decision on a new swimming pool will not be included.

The school board decided to approve the referendum to fund a construction project to unify the district's grades at one location at the high school.

The board turned down a second five and a-half million dollar referendum to construct a competition-size swimming pool at at the high school site.

A third referendum question, calling for an additional 100-thousand dollars to maintain the swimming pool, was also turned down by the school board.

Superintendent David Smikrud told the Trempealeau County Times he did not see the support in the district for a new swimming pool at this time.
