Spring Grove City Administrator Theresa Coleman is out of a job after the Spring Grove City Council voted 3 to 2 this month to eliminate the position.
Mayor Bruce Poole, who voted to fire Coleman, says roughly 40% of Spring Groves’ 700 registered voters signed a petition requesting the council eliminate the administrator position to save money.
According to the Post-Bulletin, Coleman’s salary was about $50,000 a year, plus benefits.
Poole and other members of the city council will split up Coleman’s responsibilities on a trial basis. Poole say’s if the arrangement doesn’t work out the city will look into hiring a part-time clerk.
